Space Weather Snapshot

Right on the front page you’ll find live geomagnetic data straight from NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center: 3-hour K-indices for the last seven days across several observatories, plus a real-time aurora forecast map for the northern hemisphere. If the K-index climbs, expect rougher HF conditions — and maybe a chance at aurora if you’re far enough north.

Local Weather — NWS Cleveland

Since so much of what we do outdoors depends on the weather, the site now pulls live current conditions and today’s forecast directly from the National Weather Service office in Cleveland, alongside a looping KCLE radar image so you can see what’s actually moving through Northeast Ohio right now.

HF Band Conditions

There’s a general day/night propagation outlook broken down by band, from 80m all the way up to 10m, so you have a rough sense of what to expect before you even fire up the rig. It’s meant as a starting point — always cross-check the live widgets above for current, real conditions.

FT8 & Digital Modes

For weak-signal work, the site links out to the tools most FT8 and PSK31 operators already rely on — WSJT-X for the software side, and PSK Reporter so you can watch who’s decoding your signal in real time, anywhere in the world.

Space News & Further Reading

This section rounds up where to keep tabs on the bigger picture — NASA for missions and launches, Spaceweather.com and SpaceWeatherLive for solar activity and aurora chasing, and ARRL News for what’s happening across the amateur radio world.
